Poet and illustrator looking for the weird in everything.
Hi, I'm R.C. Thomas, a poet and illustrator living in Plymouth, UK. I recently rebranded to R.C Thomas Things, so you may see Richard Thomas/Richard Thomas Things still floating about online and on some products. Sorry about that, but all the creativity is still coming from the same place.
I'm generally amused by the surreal/abstract/absurd in the every day, and I try to reflect that in my work where possible.
My poetry and haiku have been published internationally in a bunch of publications, including Tears in the Fence, Orbis, and Presence. I have two collections of poetry: The Strangest Thankyou (2012) and Zygote Poems (2015), both published by Cultured Llama. I have also edited and co-edited the creative publications: Symmetry Pebbles, INK, Tribe, and Thief. I wrote articles and interviews for Tribe Media, too. In 2014, I graduated from Plymouth University with a BA (Hons) in Creative Writing.
Writing was always my main source of creativity. However, over the years I've got more and more into visual art, and particularly, illustration - just doodling for my own entertainment. It's only recently that I've felt I've honed a style of my own and have wanted to share it with the world. With my shop, I hope to sell my poetry and illustration individually, but also to find ways to combine the two.
