The entrepreneurial journey of an unemployed designer
I am a designer working at a company, and I have always been very fond of reading. During my busy work schedule, reading has been my greatest source of relaxation and joy. However, fate sometimes doesn't go as planned. Due to operational issues at the company, I found myself unemployed. Faced with sudden unemployment, I felt lost and helpless for a while.
During this time, I frequently gathered with several friends who also love design. We shared our situations and ideas with each other. We discovered that, besides our passion for design, we all had a shared love for books. After many discussions, we came up with a bold idea: why not combine our design skills with our love for books and open our own shop on Etsy?
We conducted market research, explored various production techniques, and sought different partners to ensure the quality of our products. We independently designed the patterns, ensuring their uniqueness.
Our book embosser designs not only focus on practicality but also incorporate our unique design concepts and love for books. We hope that these exquisite embossers can make each book unique, carrying the owner’s intentions and personality. As our products were launched, our efforts were recognized by the market, and more and more book lovers began to notice and purchase our products.
From unemployment to entrepreneurship, my design friends and I have gone through a lot. From initial confusion and helplessness to now being determined and confident, we have not only found a new career direction but also realized our passion for books and design. This process has taught me that as long as you have the courage to pursue your dreams, difficulties and challenges can become stepping stones to success.
