# The Story of RopeForge
My interest with ropemaking started, of course, with bondage. I was fascinated with the physics of how fibers tangle and tense within each strand to produce various styles of lays. I crunched numbers, ran tests, played with various methods of twisting, laying, and lay-balancing. I've built several prototype rigs and tools to help make the each rope consistently layed. One year later, I began production full-time and amassed a small small inventory to sell off. I hope to expand into other fibers someday, such as hemp and cotton, as well as blends. I hope to bring all kinds of new, weird, and exciting rope products to my store.
