It all started with a frustration shared by every EDC enthusiast: factory multitools are built for “everyone,” but no two users are the same.
Our founder—an avid hiker, craftsman, and lifelong tool geek—grew tired of compromising with his Leatherman: the blade lacked edge retention for backcountry trips, the scales felt clunky in his hands, and the springs weakened after years of daily use. Instead of settling, he began tinkering: swapping steels, machining custom titanium scales, and refining springs to match his exact needs.
Friends and fellow EDC lovers took notice—soon, they were asking for upgrades of their own. What began as a hobby in a garage workshop evolved into SCTOOL: a space where precision engineering meets real-world use.
