I spent 17 years working in veterinary clinics and always found the act of helping clients through the grieving process to be rewarding. I was surprised at how many people had no one who truly understood their loss or had the patience to not only understand, but also listen to their stories of love. How did your pet come into your life? What made that pet special? What memories do you have and what will you miss most? These are all conversations that help to deal with the loss and grief. Recently I had a friend who lost a dog that was her whole life and she was devastated. I made her my first shadow box, with a quote that I felt related to her feeling of loss and how the world feels to her now, without her beloved dog. This was the idea that became ShadowsofLove.

The first box I sold on Etsy was a wonderful experience. We shared touching e-mail correspondence in the process of creating what the customer wanted. I loved sharing in her celebration of this kitty's life, that was suddenly, unexpectedly cut short. I now only make shadow boxes on special request, due to the rising cost of shipping.

My shop has evolved over the years and I now offer a wide selection of cremation jewelry and rearview mirror ornaments to honor, not only pets, but family members as well. It's very rewarding to help people honor the ones they love.

I am married with 2 beautiful dogs and 1 wonderful cat. I have always had animals in my life and cannot imagine my life without them. I look forward to sharing that love of animals with you.
