I handmake all my lampwork glass beads and bead crochet
J’ai une passion pour les perles sous toutes ses formes. Je crée mes propres perles de verre dans mon home studio dans l’Illinois. Je fais aussi tout le crochet de perles et le tissage de perles du début à la fin.
J’ai grandi à Highland Park, dans l’Illinois, où j’ai fréquenté la Highland Park High School. Chaque année, ils avaient quelque chose qui s’appelait « Focus on the Arts » et j’adorais ce moment spécial. L’école ferait venir des professionnels dans tous les différents domaines des arts. Vous pourriez apprendre à utiliser un appareil photo, souder une bague ou écrire une nouvelle. J’ai pris tous les cours de bijoux et j’étais complètement fascinée. C’est à ce moment-là que j’ai su que j’utiliserais ma créativité pour créer quelque chose d’unique.
J’ai ensuite obtenu un BFA en design graphique de l’Université de l’Iowa et j’ai travaillé de nombreuses années à Chicago en tant que graphiste.
Je me suis marié, j’ai eu deux enfants merveilleux et puis c’était, eh bien, et maintenant? J’ai pris un cours de travail de la lampe à Highland Park et j’en suis absolument tombé amoureux. Dès que la torche a été allumée, j’ai su que ce serait ma vocation.
Je fabrique maintenant des perles de verre et crée des pièces de crochet de perles dans mon home studio.
J’expose dans environ 20 expositions d’art à travers le Midwest.

I have a passion for beads in all its many forms. I create my own lampwork glass beads in my home studio in Illinois. I also do all the bead crochet and bead weaving from start to finish.
I grew up in Highland Park, Illinois attending Highland Park High School. Every year they would have something called "Focus on the Arts" and I just loved that special time. The school would bring in professionals in all different fields of the arts. You could learn to use a camera, solder a ring or write a short story. I took all jewelry classes and was completely fascinated. That is when I knew I would use my creativity to create something unique.
I went on to achieve a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Iowa and worked many years in Chicago as a graphic designer.
I got married, had two wonderful children and then it was, well, now what? I took a lampworking class in Highland Park and absolutely fell in love with it. The minute the torch was lit, I knew it would be my calling.
I now make glass beads and create bead crochet pieces in my home studio.
I exhibit in about 20 art shows around the Midwest.
