SideKick was born from years spent understanding dogs not just as pets, but as partners. Its founder, a former animal control officer, spent countless hours responding to calls involving frightened strays, neglected animals, runaway dogs, and overwhelmed owners. Over time, one thing became clear: dogs respond best to calm energy, trust, and steady leadership.
Day after day, the founder saw how the wrong equipment created stress for both dogs and people — tangled leashes, harsh pulling, awkward harnesses, and situations that quickly spiraled out of control. But he also saw the incredible bond that forms when a dog feels safe, guided, and connected to the person beside them.
After leaving animal control work, that experience inspired a new idea: create a leash system designed around comfort, control, and real-world functionality. Something durable enough for active dogs, adaptable enough for busy public spaces, and comfortable enough for everyday life.
