A beautiful mix
Hallo, ich bin Sol. Amerikanisch ist meine fünfte Nationalität. Ich bin Latina, aber ich identifiziere mich nicht mit dem Dia de Los Muertos. Ich bin Jude, aber ich bin Atheist. Ich bin besser in der Grammatik als viele Englischsprecher, aber ich vergesse immer noch Schlüsselwörter mitten in Gesprächen. Ich bin ein Migrant und wurde in einer Familie von Migranten geboren.
Als Teenager trampte ich im Sommer durch Chile und verkaufte Schmuck und Lederwaren, die ich selbst hergestellt hatte. Jahre später und jetzt in den USA ansässig, übersetzen meine Entwürfe meine Erfahrung als Migrant, der im pulsierenden New York City lebt, gemischt mit meiner Sehnsucht nach Erfahrungen in der Ruhe und Offenheit der Natur.
Ich lebe derzeit in NYC und versuche durch meine Handwerkspraxis, auf dem Laufenden zu bleiben mit den Gefühlen der Verbindung und des Abenteuers, die ich genossen habe, als ich durch Chile gereist bin, immer noch bewegt von den magischen Landschaften, die ich erleben konnte und die ich in mir trage, wo immer ich bin. Ob durch ein Schmuckstück oder einen Wandbehang, ich hoffe, dass Sie innehalten und die stillen und offenen Räume finden, die in Ihnen sind.
Ich mache meinen Schmuck Stück für Stück in meinem Atelier in Queens, mit recyceltem Sterlingsilber, 14 Karat Goldfüllung und Messing. Mit einer globalen Ästhetik kombiniere ich sowohl klare Linien als auch organische Formen und verbinde Texturelemente wie Metallhämmern und upgecyceltes Leder. Das Ergebnis ist tragbare Kunst, die bescheiden, anmutig und unverwechselbar ist.

As a teenager, I hitchhiked throughout Chile during summers selling jewelry and leather goods that I made myself. Years later and now settled in the US, my designs translate my experience as an migrant living in vibrant New York City mixed with my longing for experiences in the calm and openness of nature.
Currently living in NYC, through my craft practice I try to stay tuned to the feelings of connection and adventure I enjoyed traveling through Chile, still moved by the magical landscapes that I was able to witness and that I carry inside me wherever I am. Whether through a piece of jewelry or a wall hanging I hope for you to pause, and find those silent and open spaces that are within you.
I make my jewelry one piece at a time in my studio in Queens, with recycled sterling silver, 14k gold fill and brass. With a global aesthetic, I combine both clean lines and organic shapes, incorporating textural elements such as metal hammering and up-cycled leather. The result is wearable art that is unassuming, graceful and distinctive.
