a strange imagination leads to this.
I have always been a creative person, specifically inclined to love typography and handwriting. I remember sitting at the dining room table as my mother paid the bills, trying to emulate her cursive handwriting with my crayon. As I went through school, I was encouraged to pursue other non-artsy avenues, but the margins of my Physics notes were littered with doodles. I ended up as a paralegal for the local government, which I enjoyed because I got to interact with the public. Unfortunately, my creativity was confined to being in charge of making funny drawings for the waiting room and various signage for my community.
However, after I got engaged, I was enamored with the idea of the various fun pieces of painted glassware that I was seeing on Etsy and Pinterest. So, my left brain says: "You can do that!"...so I did. The outpouring of orders I was receiving was a shock, and soon I was having to pick a name for my little company. I immediately thought of my childhood, and how in my goofy way, I had conjured up an alter ego to entertain my three other siblings. This alter ego had a miniature pink poodle named Fifi. Looking back, I realized that this was a good symbol of my quirky, creative side, so - Pink Poodle was born.
Now two years later, I am realizing that I belly flopped into the pool of Etsy, and thanks to help and advice from various forums, teams, and owners, I am starting to make my shop what I want it to be: Fun, Functional, and Unique, just like my customers.
I look forward to continuing to grow, and all that is to come. Thanks for stopping by!
