Hello! I'm a fine artist based in San Diego, California, and a recent college graduate with a degree in illustration. I've been creating art since I was a kid. My earliest inspirations came from anime and comics, but over the past few years my interests have shifted toward the dramatic lighting of the Baroque masters and the expressive brushwork of Impressionist and realist painters.
For the past year, I've primarily worked in oil, exploring both studio still lifes and plein air landscapes. My goal is to continue painting outdoors, building a body of work that captures the beauty of nature through observation, color, and light.
I believe that art has the power to capture a moment in a way that a photograph cannot. With my landscapes, I try to capture the feeling of a place, the scent of the air, the sounds of nature, the changing light, and the emotions that come from experiencing it firsthand. My hope is that each painting conveys not just what a place looked like, but what it felt like to be there.
