Welcome to The Optimistic OT. I'm Martha, a neuro-affirming, trauma-informed Occupational Therapist from Galway, Ireland. I am passionate about supporting young people to be their whole authentic and autonomous selves, using a child-led and play-based approach.
I have over 8 years of experience working with neurodivergent children and young people within schools, clinics, community settings and within a child's home environment. I use this experience to create accessible visual infographics as I know how direct Occupational Therapy support is not always easily accessible or affordable.
I create digital downloads which can be instantly accessed, sharing ideas to support nervous system regulation, to increase awareness of sensory triggers, to share neuro-affirming practical school supports, and to support acceptance and awareness of masking, emotionally based school avoidance and other neurodivergent topics.
My Etsy shop is perfect for parents, teachers, therapists and mental health service providers who want to spread awareness and understanding of neurodivergence to support their children to receive the support that they need.
