Printmaking in Portland, Oregon
I am an artist living and working in beautiful Portland, Oregon. My primary medium is printmaking, a wonderful and often surprising medium that has been around for centuries.
In 2010, just months after my daughter was born I was considering my great fortune that my partner, born in Arkansas, and myself, born in California, met in Oregon. I was working on a show with a map theme and I hand lettered "I'm So Happy We Both Showed Up Here" onto a silhouette of Oregon, and made it into a screen print. The words are my own and I have since been selling variations on this print for most of the U.S. states. Many others on Etsy have "borrowed" the concept for this print, but know that its origins were in the breakfast nook pictured above, with a happy and true heart.
I do a great deal of other work, only some of which makes it onto this site. If you have seen something of mine you are wondering about, send me a convo and I will my best to make it available here.
I am proud to have been featured on such lovely blogs as Design Sponge and Apartment Therapy, as well as published in the Chronicle book "You are So Loved," but probably what makes me the most satisfied is to see my work in others' homes, and know that it has a life of its own out there in the world where it can be appreciated in someone's daily life.
If you are in Portland, please stop by Lark Press at 3901 N Williams, an active letterpress studio and beautiful print and gift shop which carries all the work I offer.
