So happy to be creative!
For nearly 20 years, I was an accomplished Information Technology Professional, and while that was a rewarding career, my creativity was not allowed to shine through. Now, as both a studio photographer and an artist, I am happy to say that I feel more creative than ever!
I currently specialize in two types of art. The first is a process called Dye Sublimation. With this process I create graphics and photographs and print them using a special printer that prints with dyes, not inks. Then, the graphic is transferred from the paper to the item using a heat transfer process.
I also utilize my vast experience as a photographer to capture the beauty of Pittsburgh and provide it to my customers on useful items like coasters, tiles, keychains, puzzles, ornaments, and a variety of other items using this process. Believe me, I am as excited as a kid in a candy shop when I can come up with a really cool photograph or design!
My business, Tree Buds Designs, came to life in 2012. The name itself reflects the promise of new growth on a tree (“buds”) and it also honors my close companion, my dog “Buddy”, who is always nearby while I am hard at work and he often goes with me on my photo shoots of Pittsburgh.
