Where we are
I’ve been designing and 3D printing bits and pieces for my own games for a few years now.
This usually means upgrading some of my games with little "quality of life" improvements. Sometimes whole inserts, but often little things like a 3D coffee cup for Ark Nova. And those I can now offer for sale here.
Because the items are designed to improve *my* experience of the game, they tend to be designed around my own criteria; I usually use sleeved cards, often put tokens in coin capsules and the like. Most items will have been prototyped several times so that the fit is perfect for *my* game, or they work just how *I* want them to etc.
Everything is pretty much made to order, and sometimes has to fit in around the day job; this isn’t so much a business or even a "side hustle" for me, simply a way to offer bits and pieces to other people that I hope they will find useful! As it’s 3D printed, there are often small imperfections in the final article, although the new printer I bought in the middle of 2023 has been a big improvement over what I had before.
There can also be some colour variations over the pictures, as filaments come in and out of stock; I try hard to get a close match where my items are used in conjunction with particular game components, but that isn't always possible (right now it's getting hold of the right shade of purple that is problematic; a few months ago it was yellow; sometimes it's brown).
Watching SpaceX's constant and rapid evolution of their designs has also inspired me to do the same - each new product has been designed, improved, tested, redesigned and improved multiple times. I will sometimes revisit items in my shop and make further upgrades or improvements - so what you see in the pictures isn't always *precisely* how the finished item turns out, but that will only be because I think that I have made it *better*.
