Hand-Crafted Camino Pilgrim Keepsake Scallop Shells

The Heart Behind Wayfarer Shells

The inspiration for these keepsake shells came from my own pilgrimage. In May 2024, I walked the Camino Portuguese, and made two of these beautiful shells for myself and my walking partner. As we trekked through the cobblestone streets and rolling hills, fellow pilgrims from around the world stopped to ask where they could get one. I only made two, but the impact stayed with me.

Then, while recovering from surgery in early 2025—when I couldn’t hike and my spirit craved connection—I decided to craft a few more. I made them as gifts for a pastor and her partner who would soon set out on their own pilgrimage. What started as a personal project blossomed into a passion, and now I’m thrilled to share these meaningful keepsakes with fellow wayfarers and seekers.

Wherever your path leads you, may your shell remind you of courage, faith, and the beauty of the journey.
