Welcome to We Are One Thread!
We are a small, heart-forward creative studio in the San Francisco Bay Area where every stitch is an act of care, community, and joyful resistance.
I’m Karin - mom of three, nonprofit community advocate, Girl Scout leader, and lifelong believer that our world is stronger when everyone belongs. I create slow-stitched fabric art using rescued textile scraps, giving new life to materials that might otherwise be discarded. My work is rooted in the idea that we are literally and figuratively connected - one thread, many stories, all deserving of dignity and to be valued.
Each piece in this shop is hand-stitched with intention, often while juggling homework help, theater rehearsal carpools, and the beautiful chaos of our family life. My husband Colin lends his photography skills so that the brilliance, texture, and stories in each piece shine through.
At We Are One Thread, we stand proudly for inclusion, LGBTQ+ equality, democracy, compassion, and the belief that communities thrive when we lift one another up. This shop is built in the spirit of hopeful activism, kindness, and unapologetic love for humanity.
Thank you for supporting art that supports community.
Thank you for believing that we are stronger together.
And thank you for helping stitch a more colorful, equitable world, where we are one thread.
