My Journey From Traditional to Digital Art On Canvas
My passion for art was first inspired by my dad who was an amazing self-taught charcoal sketch artist who specialized in figures, ships, and portraits. The youngest of six, I am the only one of my siblings that took to art. And, my art is what brought me and my husband (a graduate of Parson's School Of Design) together 32-years ago. His career went in a different direction and his creative path lead to him becoming a semi-pro drummer.
I've always painted on canvas, including flowers, abstracts, and mixed media portraits. In 2019, I brought my art to two YouTube Channels (abstract and mixed media portrait art) where I share my step-by-by-step process with my subscribers from my art studio.
Beyond the canvas, I've always enjoyed using software programs to push my creativity. When AI went mainstream, I was instantly hooked! The prospect of creating art digitally from my imagination, leveraging my traditional art skills, was so appealing to me that I eagerly opened my Etsy shop, When & Again in May 2024.
MY DIGITAL ART PROCESS: The wall art prints and Frame TV art available on my shop starts with a vision. I use AI prompting processes that I have fine-tuned for nearly two years. That is just the beginning. From there, I take the digital paintings through a long editing process using multiple programs such as Photopea and Canva and Infinite Painter and Sketchbook to hand-draw details using a digital pen as if I were drawing with a pad and mixed media.
I upload regularly -- focusing on folk art, vintage art, mid century art, and abstract art for both wall art prints and Frame TV art / screensavers. If you have any requests or just a question, please Message me. I'd love to hear from you!!
Okay, back to creating . . .
Love & Hugs,
Ann :) xo
