It smells like I love it! A maker of practical, beautifully simple products.
It all started with one too many organic chemistry classes in college. A few formulas thrown up on a chalkboard was all it took to get me interested in whipping up my first batch of soap in my tiny apartment kitchen. After lots of experimentation, I perfected my recipe and expanded my line to include solid and liquid lotions, lip balm, scrubs, and soy candles.
But then, it was time for grad school, and while exploring my new surroundings in Vermont I came across my first ever sheep and wool festival. I immediately took up spinning and dyeing, studied a lot of sustainability issues, and started producing more soap and yarn than I could use or gift, and so, The Fuzzy Bunny was born (named after my bunny at the time, George).
I have since returned to my roots in the Finger Lakes region of New York, adopted a few more rabbits, and opened a brick and mortar shop. The Fuzzy Bunny (formerly the Honeoye Craft Lab) is where I make, teach, and showcase other local talented artists. I tend to be a purist when it comes to my bath and body products--straightforward ingredients that perform well and smell fantastic. Everything is vegan/plant based. My fiber work is where my love of color shines through, and I love switching between technically picky yarns and textured art yarns.
In my spare time, I remodel an 1850s farmhouse, dream of starting a sheep retirement farm, and pretend I'm a vegan chef. I exited the world of legal publishing in 2017 to become a full time fiber artist and soap maker on January 1, 2018.
