From Creative Outlet to Passionate Craft: The Story Behind Nonessential Necessities
I began making t-shirts, cups, journals, and notepads for my family and myself as a creative outlet. I loved being able to design things exactly how I wanted, playing with different styles and formats. What started as a way to unwind and personalize gifts quickly grew into a full-blown passion. When I saw how much joy my creations brought to those around me—and how much I enjoyed the process—I realized I had found something truly special. What began as a hobby quickly became a career, and now I’m thrilled to share my handmade creations with you.
At Nonessential Necessities, I offer a variety of thoughtfully crafted products, including handmade wire-bound journals, notepads, blank thank you cards, pre-designed canvas panels, wall artwork, drinkware, and accessories. Each item, except for some of the drinkware and a few accessories, is handmade with care. Using a manual guillotine, an Epson Workforce printer, a binding machine, and a Cricut Maker, I create items that reflect my love for both creativity and quality craftsmanship. Every piece is designed to not only serve a purpose but to bring a little extra joy into your life.
My mission is to create high-quality, handcrafted products that elevate everyday moments, whether it’s jotting down a quick note, sipping your favorite beverage, or adding a personal touch to your space. At Nonessential Necessities, I aim to offer unique, functional items that help you add style and creativity to the small, often overlooked moments in life.
My vision is to build a brand that values individuality, creativity, and practicality. I hope to inspire others to embrace their unique style and find joy in the little things, turning even the most "nonessential" items into essentials for everyday life. I believe that the things we surround ourselves with should bring a sense of comfort, personality, and happiness—and that's what I strive to offer in every piece I create.
Why did I choose "Nonessential Necessities"? It’s a playful reminder that sometimes, we don’t need something right now, but eventually, we all have those little items that come in handy when we least expect it. Whether it’s a cozy mug, a custom journal, or a thank you card you forgot you needed, these small but meaningful items have a way of making our lives a little easier and more enjoyable when we least expect it.
