About
Why the yellow chair?
A young new father finds an abandoned child’s chair, gingerly saws the legs to a height befitting his toddler, and wiggles four tennis balls onto the stumps. He pairs the chair with a makeshift desk in the corner of his one bedroom home and nods in satisfaction. Up next, wifey! She outfits the desk with a clean cloth, books, and whatever art supplies they have. As a finishing touch, she snuggles a firm cushion into the open back of the yellow chair.
Then, and now
As I outgrew my cozy setup, I only grew more in love with making. Nothing in my path was left untouched. CD’s were painted, pencil cases bedazzled, dolls makeover-ed. But I also grew in the Word. It remained constant as my family moved across three countries and half a dozen cities by the time I started high school. His Word was sweet -- God stirred my heart and met me through it.
Two and a half decades later, I still just want to make things, and I very much need the Word. I’m here to try and share what I can with you out there. Hopefully you like it!
The goal, the dream
The yellow chair represents a place where I recharge and thrive by making. It also represents a going-ness before the Lord to intentionally seek and encounter Him (1 Sam 7:18, 1 Chron 17:16). My goal is to create and share in the spirit of Galatians 6:10. Growing up in a Korean American environment, I saw how important language is in keeping a bridge between generations, whether in general or in the faith. My dream is to encourage Bible literacy and Korean language learning.
