Ceramic pendant measures 3 cm (1.2 inches) long, 2.7 cm (1 inches) wide and 0.5 cm (0.2 inches) thick approximately. It has matte black cotton cord and antique bronze lobster clasp. The full open length of the cord including the clasp is approximately 50 cm (19.7 inches) long. If you like a different length cord, please let me know via 'message to seller' during checkout.

My husband Teppei Yamashita is a Japanese ceramic artist. He designs the Japanese kanji necklaces. He hand makes the ceramic molds. Every kanji on the ceramic mold is hand drawn by him. We use black clay on the molds to make the ceramic pendants. After we take it out of the mold we smoothen the edges, make the hole for the cord and make some corrections. When it is dry we put it inside the kiln for the first firing and it is done at 900°C (1652°F). After first firing, we use ceramic inlay technique inside the kanji with white clay. When the corrections done it is time for the second firing and it is done at 1050°C (1922°F). After that the ceramic pendant will be ready to be put on a cord.
