A Delta plan for Groningen
' The earthquake problem that plays in the province of Groningen and in a part of Drenthe, is one of the biggest postwar scandals in the Netherlands '. This is what comedian Freek de Jonge thinks.
In response to the appeal by Freek de Jonge to plan a delta plan for Groningen, students from the academy Minerva Groningen have mapped the earthquake problems of Groningen in an artistic way.
Why art school students? Because young creatives can make a significant contribution to the prosperity of a country. The Delta plan did not put the Dutch wind eggs. Since then we are worldwide famous and renowned for our innovative solutions in danger to the sea. Investing in advances in creative solutions is the key to success. We also need such a plan for Groningen, or indeed for the whole of the Netherlands! Artists, designers, engineers and architects are trapped! Wonderful research. For example to new sustainable materials and new ways of building. Immediately a positive wind will blow over the country.
We Dutchmen could again be leaders in the field of innovation. This time in the area of solutions to earthquake hazards, sustainable use of materials and energy saving. No GUTS no GLORY!

Beautiful work by Minerva students with an important theme: the gas drilling and the associated destruction of the province of Groningen. Art makes a very clear statement here.
A really nice and informative read for both designers and those who would like to know more about this profession.
