Multi-artist Pascal Griffioen, better known as Def P, rapper van Osdorp Posse, founder of Dutch-language hip-hop, musician, writer, language innovator, graphic designer, painter and world traveler has just turned forty in this book. In “Heen en Onweer” he literally opens a book about all the strange, coincidental and funny events from an unusual life. While he travels around the world by train, he looks back on his life through all sorts of associations every day, which rumbles past just as fast as the train itself. With speed and humor he takes the reader on a special world trip and gradually an image of his personal life emerges.
Def P: "2010 was an important year for me with many milestones. I was going to sell my house and my girlfriend was going to be my wife. To make our honeymoon unforgettable, I thought it would be a kick to combine that with an unfulfilled wish of mine, namely an adventurous trip around the world by train. My brand new wife was interested in such an exciting trip, so we didn't waste any time and started preparing. However, a few other things were playing in my head I had just completed another great adventure, namely my twenty hectic years with my rap group Osdorp Posse. With this group I have experienced the most bizarre things, which has already determined half my life. I was also just Turned 40, so you start looking back a bit, I had collected many separate stories over the years and this trip gave me both the time and the opportunity to knit everything together as one. There are actually two chronological stories that are continuously intertwined. The reader is taken on a special world trip and; because I end every day with an anecdote; (also in chronological order) the reader is also taken into a life story full of bizarre or hilarious events. Ultimately, both trips end at the same place and time: Amsterdam 2010."
