Mysteries made for your kitchen table
I write cozy mysteries, and I’ve spent nearly twenty years teaching middle school English. Both jobs come down to the same thing: handing people a puzzle worth solving and trusting them to figure it out.
Cozy Case Files is where those two lives meet. Every game here is a printable mystery set somewhere you’d want to visit: a harvest fair, a small-town bakery, a farmhouse at the holidays. There’s no gore and nothing graphic, just good people, bad decisions, and a trail of clues that leads somewhere.
What you’ll find here:
Murder mystery games: host-free game nights for 2–6 players. Open each envelope, crack the clue inside, and work your way to the truth.
Cold case files: a box of old documents and a case the town gave up on. Play solo, as a date night, or with a few friends, and find the detail everyone missed.
Murder mystery parties: dinner party kits where every guest plays a character, including the host.
How I make them:
I design every case backward. I start with the solution, then build the clues so a careful player can prove it with logic instead of guessing. Each game is tested for fairness, every suspect has a reason to be suspected, and every red herring gets explained in the end. If you get stuck, there’s a hint sheet waiting, with three levels of help so you only take as much as you need.
Everything is a digital download. Print at home, pour something warm, and settle in.
Thank you for being here. I hope you stay up later than you meant to.
