Over mij
Mijn grootvader liet een muntencollectie na, bedoeld als erfenis voor zijn achterkleinkinderen. Hij had er zijn hele leven aan gewerkt, munt voor munt.
Toen ik de verzameling naar een lokale muntenwinkel bracht, werd me verteld dat de muntsets simpelweg uit hun verpakking zouden worden gesneden en omgesmolten voor hun metaalwaarde. Het idee dat het harde werk van mijn grootvader vernietigd zou worden, beviel me helemaal niet.
Daarom heb ik The Coin Cache opgericht: om verzamelaars te vinden die deze munten waarderen om wat ze zijn, niet alleen om hun metaalwaarde. Mijn doel is om elk stuk in handen te geven van iemand die de geschiedenis, de zorg en de intentie achter de verzameling op waarde schat.
Elke munt is afkomstig uit de verzameling van mijn grootvader, en elke verkoop helpt de nalatenschap te bewaren die hij wilde achterlaten.
About Me
My grandfather left behind a coin collection intended as an inheritance for his great-grandchildren. It was something he spent a lifetime building, one coin at a time.
When I took the collection to a local coin shop, I was told the mint sets would simply be cut from their packaging and melted down for their metal value. The idea of my grandfather’s hard work being destroyed didn’t sit right with me.
That’s why I created The Coin Cache — to find collectors who appreciate these coins for what they are, not just what they’re worth in metal. My goal is to place each piece into the hands of someone who values the history, care, and intention behind the collection.
Every coin comes from my grandfather’s collection, and every sale helps preserve the legacy he meant to leave behind.
