Once Upon A Time a Wedding Designer was Born
I have been designing and making wedding invitations for 15 years. Initially, I didn't even know that I was designing a wedding invitation, it just kind of evolved. It all started when I was a newly engaged bride and I myself was looking for a wedding invitation. After flipping through multiple magazines and visiting many local bridal shops, I just couldn't find anything that I considered creative.
Back then the internet wasn't up and running, so I was left to my own resources. I eventually ordered plain, classic square invitations with a traditional Edwardian font on natural heavy cardstock. They were nice, however, they were still missing something. I purchased a bridal planning book and this helped get my creative juices flowing. I knew I wanted something different and not just from a store. Something creative, something no one has seen before, something just for me...
After searching and searching, I finally ran across a ribbon that I absolutely loved! I began making bows and tried to figure out how I would incorporate these onto my invitaitons. Believe it or not glue dots were not invented yet! LOL! I found an adhesive that worked and attached one bow to the top of each of my invitaitons. Finally, an invitation I loved and was ready to mail out!
Ultimately, I began helping friends and family with their weddings and invitations and my business grew by word of mouth. Then along came etsy! I now have clients from all across the world and enjoy designing wedding invitaitons for each of them. I create a new design line each season and offer custom pieces to clients looking for something unique to them. If you have a design idea or theme that you are looking to capture, let me know!
