Un poco sobre mí
A bit about me
Soy artista, ilustradora y creadora, y actualmente resido entre Sussex y Bristol (aunque en los últimos años he pasado mucho tiempo en Nueva Zelanda).
Gran parte de mi trabajo se inspira en mi pasión por la natación y por estar en el agua o cerca de ella. Si bien mis temas suelen ser variados (desde nadadores hasta estudios de dibujo del natural y aves insólitas), mi obra se caracteriza por mi fascinación por las líneas imperfectas, el espacio negativo y las formas, tanto simplificadas como exageradas.
Me encanta trabajar con lápices de colores y dibujar con tinta; crear cosas con mis manos y la naturaleza táctil de los materiales es muy importante para mí y para mi práctica artística.
Para mí es muy importante que mi estudio y mi práctica artística tengan un impacto mínimo en el medio ambiente.
Por lo tanto, mis láminas y tarjetas de felicitación están impresas en uno de dos tipos de papel.
El papel ligero de periódico (para impresiones A5 y aproximadamente la mitad de mi gama de tarjetas) está impreso en un papel sin blanquear fabricado con un 100 % de residuos posconsumo destintados auténticos, certificado por FSC®.
El papel marrón claro (el de las láminas A4 y la otra mitad de mi colección de tarjetas) está impreso en papel fabricado con un 100 % de residuos agrícolas (productos de la agricultura que, de otro modo, se quemarían). Es totalmente libre de árboles, sin blanquear y completamente reciclable. ¡Me encanta!
Y, por supuesto, todas las bolsas que uso para envolver mis dibujos, láminas y tarjetas son biodegradables y compostables.

I am an artist, illustrator and maker currently based between Sussex and Bristol (and for the past few years I’ve spent a lot of time in New Zealand).
Much of my work is inspired by my love of swimming and being in or near water. Although often my subject varies (from swimmers to life drawing studies to improbable birds), my work is connected through my love of imperfect lines, negative space and simplified or exaggerated forms.
I love working with coloured pencil and drawing with ink, making stuff with my hands and the tactile nature of materials is really important to me and my practice.
It’s really important to me that my studio and art practice ‘treads lightly’ on our environment.
My prints and greetings cards are therefore printed on 1 of 2 types of paper.
The light newsprint paper (A5 prints and about half of my card range) is printed on an unbleached paper stock made from 100% genuine de-inked post consumer waste, certified by FSC®.
The light brown paper (A4 prints and the other half of my card range) is printed on paper made from 100% agricultural waste. (The products from crop farming which would otherwise be burnt). It is completely tree free, unbleached and fully recyclable. I love it!
And of course, all the bags I use to wrap my drawings/prints and cards in are biodegradable and compostable.
