There's nothing wrong with that... it just isn't what I wanted to create. I wanted to bring something different to the table.
Very Still Creatures was born from the idea that these incredible animals can be treated like works of art, elevated by gorgeous frames and complimentary mats. Every piece is made with intention. Positioned, preserved, and displayed in a hand-selected vintage or custom frame with individually cut matting and thoughtfully chosen materials. I spend far more time on the presentation than is necessary - and I'm totally cool with that.
Every specimen is different. The frame, the colors, the textures, and the composition are chosen to complement the creature itself, not a cookie cutter design. The goal isn't simply to display a beetle or a moth; it's to create something unique and absolutely stunning. Something that starts a conversation and incites wonder.
All of our insects are sourced ethically from sustainable suppliers and collectors around the world. Once they arrive, each specimen is carefully rehydrated, positioned by hand, dried, preserved, and framed. It's a slow process, but incredibly satisfying if you enjoy getting into the details of a craft.
Alongside framed insects, you'll also find preserved oddities, curiosities, limited collections, and the occasional experiment that sounded like a good idea at 11:30 at night.
