In Alaska many people enjoy fishing either for subsistence or entertainment. The most common type is salmon fishing, usually for eating in the winter. When filleting the fish, the scales can be cut off. I started using these as a base for necklaces, and other charms. The scales are a gorgeous silver and can be dyed whatever color you want. This necklace is super cute and cool, featuring Kenai caught sockeye salmon.
