Here at Spoonflower, we custom-print every fabric and paper item to order. Every design is created by an independent designer in our artist community! We print everything digitally on large format printers using non-toxic, vegan, water-based inks. Our digital printing process does not allow for the use of metallic or pearlescent inks. Any designs with metallic elements in our shop are photographic representations of glitter or metal. We do not print using metallics, fluorescents, or glitter. Promotions shown are only applicable for purchases made in this Spoonflower shop. Discounts cannot be combined. Previous purchases are not eligible for adjustments. Orders for multiple products may ship at different times to ensure a quick delivery.

Returns and Cancellations:

All of our fabrics and wallpapers are custom-printed to order. If you receive a flawed or damaged order, we are always willing to replace or refund it. Otherwise, we handle returns on a case-by-case basis. Test swatches are not eligible to be returned or refunded. You have 30 days from when your order has shipped from our factories to let us know if there’s an issue. Check your order promptly after you receive it to avoid missing the window. Due to the automated nature of the way we print, process, and ship orders, we have a very small window to cancel any orders before they are printed. If you need to cancel an order, we will do our best to accommodate your request.

For best results, we recommend washing our fabrics with phosphate free detergent in cool or warm water using a gentle or delicate machine cycle. We also suggest washing before use - this will soften the fabric as well! Some fading as a result of cleaning is typical for these fabrics. This is most notable on darker shades. Fading can be minimized through use of cool wash settings and gentle wash cycles. Tumble dry on a low temperature or permanent press setting and remove promptly. To clean our wallpapers, gently wipe with a damp cloth. The use of cleaners and heavy rubbing can cause color to lift.

Can I order a test swatch?

Yes! We offer test swatches for both fabric and wallpaper. Simply choose which type of fabric or wallpaper you would like to see, and then you will find a swatch option available in the "Amount" drop-down menu. We always encourage getting a sample swatch first to confirm that the way a design prints on your selected material meets your expectations before committing to a full order.

Our Prepasted Removable Wallpaper and Peel and Stick Removable Wallpaper differ in their texture as well as in the type of adhesive used, though both are self-adhesive and do not require paste. Our Prepasted Removable Wallpaper has a smooth, flat texture and a water-activated adhesive backing, you simply soak the paper with a wet roller brush and then hang. Our Peel and Stick Removable Wallpaper has a slight woven texture, giving designs a more matte finish, with an adhesive backing that installs like a large sticker. All of Spoonflower's wallpaper is custom-printed to order. Each roll has a fixed 24" width and we offer a variety of lengths to meet the height of your space.

Which wallpaper should I use?

If you are hiring a professional installer, we recommend our Non-Pasted Wallpaper, available in our Spoonflower Home Etsy shop. Removable wallpapers are intended for the DIY installer. We do not recommend using either of our wallpaper options, Prepasted Removable Wallpaper or Peel and Stick Removable Wallpaper, with cement walls or any walls that have texture to them. Peel and Stick Removable Wallpaper: The longevity of paper and ease of removal will vary due to drier or more humid environmental conditions. Installation will not be compromised after two years but the ability to easily remove this paper may lessen and the dried adhesive may require touching up the wall.

How much wallpaper do I need?

To determine what length rolls you should purchase, round the height of your wall up to the nearest length available (3, 6, 9, 12 feet). If you are ordering for multiple walls in the same room, use the tallest wall height so that all the rolls are the same length. Each roll covers a width of 24". Therefore, to calculate how many rolls you need, take the full width of your wall (in inches) and divide it by 24". Or, if you are ordering for multiple walls in the same room that touch each other, add the total width of all walls and divide that number by 24". Round your answer up to the nearest full number to determine the amount of rolls to order. We include 3/4" of overlap down the right side of the roll to aid in aligning the design.

Every fabric base will present a color quite differently. This is due to several factors, including fiber type, fabric weave, absorbency, and printing method. Polyester fabrics tend to present color more vibrantly and offer a more crisp print compared to natural fibers. The way colors appear in designs will vary from monitor to monitor as well as from fabric to fabric. We always recommend ordering a test swatch first to confirm that the way a color prints meets your expectations! The unprinted area surrounding your design is there to help feed fabric into the printers. This selvage is not included in the measurements in each description - since you are not charged for this blank space, we cannot guarantee its size.

Can I purchase half yards of fabric?

Spoonflower only provides fabric in one-yard increments. With the exception of our swatches and fat quarters, we are not able to print half or partial yard cuts. Most of our customers will simply round up to the next yardage when placing an order. When ordering with us, if you indicate the quantity as more than 1, this will print as continuous yardage.

What is a fat quarter?

A fat quarter is a quarter yard of fabric, but instead of being a long, skinny rectangle, is a rectangle that measures half the width of a yard of fabric x 18" tall. *Please note that all fat quarters come in separate pieces. If you order more than 1 fat quarter, they will NOT print continuously.*
