‘Blodyn Bach’ is the Welsh term for little flower. For me, Blodyn Bach is reminiscent of our environment, of natural luxury, of endearing imagery and of appreciating the little things in our lives. Those sensory experiences of natural life, like lying in woodland on a bed of moist mossy ground under a dancing canopy cover or running through a meadow with a collage of colours and sweet aromas, and feeling the last rays of sun on your face as you float in and out of dreamtime, letting yourself drift of into infinity, in a moment of luxury.
Being conscious about my fashion footprint, I’m constantly trying to find new ways to be green and for others to do the same. It seems to me that we live in a disposable culture where so little is designed to last. I believe that by fusing sustainable materials and innovation in design, we'll see the future of fashion unfold.
I plan to develop my skills through sustainable means, pushing towards producing garments to be treasured and not simply consumed.
I graduated from Northumbria University with a first class honours in Fashion and Textile design. The aim of my final degree collection was to immerse the wearer in an experience, allowing onlookers to read into a journey; an adventure into the creation of a new path towards appreciating the world as a living organism in which we all co-exist.
Specialised in printing and surface design techniques; my passion lies in creating contemporary, interesting and appealing fabric applications with a clear fashion conscience. My samples are created with an attention to detail, a vibrant, complementary colour story and various embellishment techniques as key features. My samples include: hand screen printing, digital printing, surface design such as fabric puffs and ruffled puffs, fabric flower appliqué, chiffon vinyl samples, yoyo appliqué and quilting embroidery.
