What can be better than to make a living doing what you love? I used to have a great time doing the whole craft show thing, but ended up, like a lot of crafters, having to get a real job. In my case, that job was to open an alterations shop. I have to admit that the sewing skills I learned from my Mom have served me much better than anything I learned in college! Although it's a valuable service, it's not very creative, and I missed making things from scratch. As a seamstress, I see lots and lots of things that were made in some factory somewhere and fell apart the first time they were worn/washed and had to be brought to ME to be repaired. While this keeps me in business, it also annoys me that people have to spend their hard-earned money on things that just don't last. I find making assorted fun stuff satisfies my need for creativity AND my desire to offer people something that's unique, affordable, and made with care and attention to detail. I can't just stick to one medium though; dabbling in crochet, jewelry, painting, and whatever else grabs my attention keeps me happy. Thanks for stopping by! Lori
