I started making pottery in 2003 when I was 49. It was something I always wanted to try, so at the urging of my wife, I signed up for some courses at a local community college. Once I got my hands on some clay I was hooked.
I now work out of a very small studio in my backyard - 45 square feet. I had two dogs that were my pottery buddies, but they are no longer with us due to extreme old age. I couldn't even think about getting a new dog for months, but finally my wife and I adopted a new dog from the city shelter. He is an 11 year-old Chihuahua - a senior dog for a senior potter. We call him Peanut and he weights 8.8 pounds. He loves his new backyard and loves to roam around while I am making pots.
I hope you will give some of my pottery a try. I have come a long way from that first continuing ed class and am very proud of my work. We enjoy using it here at our house and I know you will, too.
