Hello! My name is Alex Whatton and I am the Creative Director and Founder of The Dirt Studio. I am a complete dabbler. I work in watercolors and fabrics most often, but I also art journal, paint with oils and acrylics, do acrylic pouring paintings, make folded book art, take any and every workshop I can, and belong to the Get Messy Art Journal group (#GetMessyArtJournal on Instagram). On a more personal level, I am married to a wonderfully sarcastic, witty, and sometimes too-honest Brit and we have two feisty, kind young boys (2 and 4 years old) that I stay home with full-time. Often, the boys are creating right along side me. We just recently moved to West Hartford, CT and I have an actual STUDIO in our new home...to get totally messy in. Incidentally, it has become a bit of a jungle and "The Dirt Studio" was born. I'm living my dream life and I'm so thrilled to share some of those wild and crazy dreams with you. Thank you for visiting!
