REALLY QUICK STORY: My wife and I often take walks around the scenic lake near our house in Southern New Jersey. The lake is surrounded by wonderful trees of various types and sizes.
While walking one early summer morning, my eyes were drawn to a particular twig lying on the path. It was similar to the many others that I had walked over or kicked aside on previous walks, but this one seemed to be looking up at me. It had a smaller twig for a nose, a knot hole for a mouth, and a peculiar grain pattern resembling eyes. I put it in my shirt pocket like I would a pen. That twig became the very first Scribble Stix.
I started selling the pens (Scribble Stix - get it?!) at craft shows and in artisan shops and galleries back in 2012. Since then the line of products has grown to include bottle stoppers, stylus pens, appetizer pick sets, candle and air fern holders, s'more sticks, and even lamps - all with the signature fun faces that incorporate a small branch for a nose!
