I worked as a RN diabetes educator and saw very few pretty and fun diabetes accessories for people living with diabetes. Also, during that time, my husband and I spent time building a new home. We enjoyed finding old pieces from secondhand shops, fixing them up and then incorporating them into our new home. We are enjoying old special pieces that served their owners well in one life and now have a new life in our home. Once the house was finished, I continued that same theme by creating fabric creations from used clothing and materials. Combining upcycling, sewing and creating diabetes accessories brings both my passions together! The name Matilda's Muse grew from learning my great, great grandmother was left a widow with two small boys: one being my grandfather. She supported her family by sewing. She was a strong woman and my inspiration! The name PECdesign was born from the unconditional love and support I receive from my husband Pete, son Erik, and daughter Catelin. I hope you enjoy my old into new original creations!
