Willson Lau

Born in Beijing, China's capital to a family of artists, Willson started drawing and painting at a very young age. He soon demonstrated his artistic heritage as he won lots of prizes and honors as an art student. Graduated with a BA degree from Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, China (CAFA), one of China's top art institutes more than fifteen years ago, he has ever since become a full-time painter and interior designer. Today, as an established painter, his works are collected internationally by worldwide art lovers from the US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, France, Norway and many other countries. He usually uses a palette knife, painting in oils and using a thick impasto technique to produce bold strokes that add strength and texture to his landscape, cityscape and floral paintings.

I would also like to see about "commissioning" you to make some really big pieces for me later in the year and actually pay you some money in advance as well, if this would interest you. In essence, you have already sold them before you even paint them...so there is no risk. Just an idea. You could also send them rolled.

Dear Wonderful Willson,

It was good to hear from you again too. Summer is such a busy time and has keep me with too many things to do outside. I did not want to miss the opportunity of buying some of your seasonal work. The flowers are so beautiful and I love the fish. They will be perfect on your wall in my home. ( we call it Willson's Wall) Every one who comes to visit just stands and marvels, they all love your wonderful work and talent.

I would never expect a discount from you Willson, you always sell at fair a price and for all the beautifull gifts you have given me, I could never pay you enough for the kindness. Which reminds me of the last gift of the landscape. I would have to say it is my very favorite one. Your talent is extrodinary, that will be a family Hairloom for ever. All my children wanted that Landscape, it is spell binding and you just keep finding more things to look at in it. My Daughter in law beged me for it, so I framed it and gave it up. It broke my heart to let it go but I do have to share my treasures with my family and I get to stare at it when I visit. Thank you again. You have been such an inspiration to me Willson, I will be starting art classes this fall after my grandson goes back to school. I want to learn to paint a little if only folk art or a simple flower. I have been playing around with water colors and love them, but can only paint from a tracing. I can't draw a thing, so that is the first class they make you take before teaching painting. I am very excited to learn.

My favorite bird is the Peacock and I have been working on one in acrylic and it is a mess, but I have fun trying. Willson's Wall has only three more spaces on it befor it will be full. I will have to take mesurements to send to you for the three spaces as they are smaller and I would love to have you do a Peacock for me if you could in your style.
