J'ai toujours rêvé de créer des choses uniques. Mes vêtements devaient avoir un certain look et un certain motif. Je voulais des étagères d'une hauteur et d'une largeur parfaites pour tout ce que j'y rangeais. Mon sac fourre-tout pour les conventions devait contenir tout ce que j'allais acheter et mettre en valeur mes pin's. Je voulais des cosplays astucieux, aux caractéristiques uniques qui impressionneraient. Je voulais créer à ma façon et c'est ainsi que je savais qu'ils seraient exactement comme je l'avais imaginé. Cela m'a permis d'acquérir un large éventail de compétences pour apprendre à fabriquer toutes ces choses à la main, selon mes spécifications exactes. Les outils et les machines ont amélioré, accéléré et facilité leur fabrication, et je voulais ensuite partager mes créations avec le monde entier. Je réfléchis à ce que je fais, à la manière dont je le fais, aux raisons pour lesquelles je le fais, et je puise passion et énergie dans la création de ce que j'imagine. Je passe des heures à réfléchir à ce que je veux que quelque chose soit et à ce que je veux être unique. Beyond Basic Geek est né d'une volonté d'aller au-delà du simple et du basique. N'importe qui pourrait créer quelque chose de parfaitement réussi, mais je veux créer avec intelligence et réflexion. Je veux que les gens voient mes créations et se disent : « C'était vraiment intelligent ! » ou « Je n'avais jamais pensé à faire ça ! » Je veux me démarquer. Je veux être unique. Je veux aller plus loin. Beyond Basic Geek s'inscrit dans ma quête d'excellence et de créativité.

I've always had a desire in life that I wanted to have things a very specific way. My clothes had to look a certain way with a certain pattern. I wanted shelves to be the exact right height and width to fit what I was putting there. My tote bag for conventions had to carry everything I might buy and show off all my pins at the same time. I wanted to have clever cosplays with unique features that wowed others. I wanted to make things my way and that's how I know they would be exactly how I imagined. This led to me gaining a wide array of skills to learn how to make all these things by hand to my exact specifications. Tools and machines made it better, faster, and easier to make them, and then I wanted to share my designs and craftings with the world. I think about what I make, how I make it, why I make it, and I gain passion and energy from creating the things I dream up in my head. I'll spend hours thinking about how I want something to be and I want to be unique. Beyond Basic Geek comes from a foundation of wanting to go beyond the simple and the basic. Anybody could create something that would be perfectly fine, but I want to design cleverly and thoughtfully. I want people to see my creations and think to themselves, "That was really smart," or, "I never thought about doing THAT!" I want to stand out. I want to be unique. I want to go beyond. Beyond Basic Geek is part of my pursuit to be amazing and bring creativity to the world.
