Welcome to Block On Block Design! My husband Jim and I greet you from the beautiful state of Georgia! We moved south shortly after we were married :)
When our four children were quite young, our family was inspired to make 100% beeswax Advent candles to raise funds for an amazing Catholic missionary organization with which we were all involved. We displayed the candles in a lovely handmade ceramic Advent wreath Jim and I had received as a gift when we got engaged--over 30 years ago now :) This whole, wonderful experience for our family gave us a beautiful opportunity to serve the Lord, the least, and our own spiritual growth.
As our children grew older, I began learning to make pottery at a community studio, and we transitioned our candlemaking efforts into fundraising for the homeschool hybrid some of our children were attending. Eventually, our little Etsy shop was born.
Many graduations, two weddings, and three grandchildren later, Block On Block Design has now come into focus in a new way. We are developing a shop where people like you, who are especially interested in the art of homemaking and handcrafting, can come to find home and personal decor to add warmth, welcome, and light to your own home and family life, as well as that of your loved ones. From baptisms, First Communions, and weddings, to birthdays, holidays, and all the beautifully ordinary days in between, we would be delighted for you to find something here to help you authentically live, celebrate, and commemorate!
