Frequently asked questions

When will my order arrive?

There is often confusion between processing/shipping times, which can be frustrating if you are expecting an item to arrive by a parcticular date, then discover that it won’t be there!
Each order comprises both a processing time, which is how long it takes for me to create your item, and a shipping time, which is the time that postal carriers will need to get the completed item from me to you.
If you need an item by a certain date, please contact me before ordering, so that I can check whether it would be possible.
Please note, even if it is possible for me to make your item by the required date, I have no control over the actual shipping time, so please bear this in mind.

What is the processing time?

The processing time can vary, and depends on diverse factors, such as the volume of orders I already have, and the level of stock of raw materials.
Customers can be surprised that their one item can take over a week or so for me to create. Although I do my best to create your item as quickly as I can, especially with time sensitive items such as IVF transfer bracelets etc, I usually have other orders already in the queue that need to be created first.
I try to ensure that I have the necessary materials on hand to create all items, however a particular gemstone etc can unexpectedly run out, which will mean I need to replenish before I can make.

What is the Shipping time?

The shipping time is how long your order will take in the postal system. I do not have any control over this, and it will depend on your location.
UK orders are sent second class with no postage costs to you. According to Royal Mail, most items are delivered within 3 WORKING days. If you wish to purchase an upgrade to UK first class/tracked shipping, please contact me.
International orders are sent as standard, and do not routinely include tracking, as this is considerably more expensive. You can purchase a shipping upgrade to include tracking should you wish.
Delivery times will vary according to your location, customs etc, but once shipped I would expect most orders to arrive within 10 to 15 WORKING days (2-3 weeks).

Basic Jewellery Care Instructions

Jewellery should never be worn for sleeping or sports activities, additionally it is never advisable to wear jewellery when bathing, swimming or showering, as exposure to water, chlorine, household cleaners, soaps, shampoos, perfumes or any form of liquid can tarnish jewellery, as well as causing damage to the components resulting in breakage.
Elasticated items are particularly vulnerable, and WILL break if overstretched or pulled.
Care should be taken when putting jewellery on or taking it off, as even a gentle tugs could weaken your item, leading to breakages later on.

How do I avoid breakages?

As with all bracelets, the risk of accidental damage is ever present, especially if worn on your dominant hand. You can minimise this risk by ensuring that when you remove clothing, particularly anything with long sleeves such as coats or cardigans, there is no part of the bracelet caught on the sleeve. Danger points are likely to be charms or clasps. A sharp tug WILL cause breakage, probably at the weakest link (if it didn’t, it could cause injury!) so take care during any activity that could catch your bracelet e.g. housework.
Similarly, necklaces are also at risk when removing clothing, especially with items that are taken off over the head. Also, please take care when brushing/washing your hair, as chains can easily catch and break.

Caring for Sterling Silver & Silver Plate

Sterling Silver WILL tarnish (turn black), it is a natural process called oxidisation, and does not mean that your item is not Sterling silver! It can easily be polished gently with a soft cloth, or special jewellery cleaner. Special care is needed when wearing Sterling Silver. It is a very soft metal, and consequently can be extremely fragile and delicate, needing gentle handling. This is why Sterling silver is often plated onto a slightly more durable metal, to strengthen it.
The main issue with Silver Plate is that ultimately it WILL wear away. However, you can extend the life of your silver plate by removing your jewellery for sleeping, showering etc, as sweat, shampoos and various chemicals will hasten the effect.
