He hecho, creado e incluso innovado algunas cosas en mi vida solo para tenerlas dispersas en diferentes sitios web, blogs, cajones e incluso maletas viejas en el garaje. Esos días han terminado.

Crecí como hija única en Alemania, donde me vi obligada a mantenerme entretenida construyendo todo tipo de cosas para mis barbies y jugando afuera en la tierra. Me incliné por el esquí y el windsurf. En la escuela aprendí a coser, tejer, pintar, serigrafía, grabar, dibujar y muchas otras cosas. Durante mi aprendizaje de dibujo mecánico aprendí a trabajar con metales y soldadura. Mientras vivía en Canadá aprendí todo sobre animación clásica. Más tarde, comencé un negocio en línea donde aprendí algo de codificación, diseño web, Photoshop, diseño gráfico, blogs, SEO, redes sociales y un montón de otras cosas. También fui voluntariamente a la escuela culinaria donde aprendí a cocinar, todo. La repostería, en cambio, se la dejo a los profesionales.

Puede que esté unos pasos por delante, pero eso no significa nada.

Siempre me quedo perplejo cuando la gente dice "No puedo hacer / hacer eso". ¿Por qué no? Alguien hizo eso, así que ¿por qué no puedes? Por supuesto, es posible que hayan tenido equipos o entrenamientos elegantes que usted no tuvo, pero ¿por qué no comenzar con algo fácil como tejer una bufanda, que puede convertirse en su bufanda favorita absoluta? No tengas miedo de fallar. Ve a inclinar algo nuevo. ¡AHORA!

I’ve made, created, and even innovated a few things in my life just to have them scattered on different websites, blogs, drawers, and even old suitcases in the garage. Those days are over.

I grew up as an only child in Germany where I was forced to keep myself entertained by building all kinds of things for my barbies and play outside in the dirt. I leaned to ski and wind surf. In school I learned how to sew, knit, paint, screen print, etch, draft, and many other things. During my mechanical drafting apprenticeship I learned how to work with metals and weld. While living in Canada I learned all about classical animation. Later, I started an online business where I taught myself some coding, web design, Photoshop, graphic design, blogging, SEO, social media, and a whole bunch of other stuff. I also voluntarily went to culinary school where I learned to cook - everything. Baking, on the other hand, I leave to the professionals.

I may be a few steps ahead, but that means nothing.

I’m always stumped when people say “I can’t do/make that”. Why not? Someone did/made that so why can’t you? Granted, they may have had fancy equipment or training that you did not, but why not start with something easy like knitting a scarf - which may become your absolute favorite scarf ever?! Don’t be afraid to fail. Go lean something new. NOW!
