For those who are interested, here’s a little background info on how I started PVC Animals
Je fabrique et vends les sculptures finies depuis plusieurs années maintenant. Tout a commencé quand je m’ennuyais avec le travail du bois et que je voulais essayer quelque chose de différent. J’ai cherché en ligne et je suis tombé sur un motif gratuit pour un petit oiseau en pvc. Cela m’a tellement intrigué que je l’ai imprimé et essayé tout de suite. J’ai tout de suite accroché ! C’était tellement gratifiant d’obtenir une sculpture d’oiseau aussi mignonne à partir d’un simple morceau de tuyau en pvc. Mes premiers oiseaux étaient assez amateurs, avec des courbures de cou vraiment étranges, mais que diable je m’amusais! Ces oiseaux stupides qui ont été créés il y a des années sont toujours dans mes jardins aujourd’hui!
Après avoir fait plusieurs oiseaux à partir de ce seul motif, j’ai commencé à concevoir le mien. Je dois admettre que mes premiers motifs n’ont pas vraiment produit d’œuvres d’art, mais après de multiples modifications, j’ai trouvé des designs qui me plaisaient. Un client m’a demandé si je pouvais faire un aigle. Je lui ai dit que je n’étais pas sûr, mais que j’allais essayer. Donc, grâce à « Linda », j’ai maintenant un motif d’aigle dont je suis assez fier. Elle est aussi l’inspiration pour l’orignal!
Donc, si vous cherchez quelque chose d’amusant sur lequel travailler, essayez de faire un animal avec un tuyau en pvc, vous pourriez devenir accro comme je l’ai fait!

I’ve been making and selling the finished sculptures for several years now. It all started when I was bored with woodworking and wanted to try something different. I searched online and came across a free pattern for a small pvc pipe bird. It intrigued me so much that I printed it out and tried it right away. I was immediately hooked! It was so gratifying to get such a cute bird sculpture out of just a plain piece of pvc pipe. My first few birds were quite amateurish, with some really odd looking neck bends, but what the heck I was having fun! Those silly birds that were created years ago are still in my gardens today!
After making several birds from that one pattern I started to design my own. I have to admit my first few patterns didn’t exactly produce works of art, but after multiple alterations I came up with some designs that I was happy with. I had a client ask if I could make an eagle. I told her I wasn’t sure but I would give it a try. So thanks to “Linda” I now have an eagle pattern that I’m quite proud of. She is also the inspiration for the moose as well!
So if you’re looking for something fun to work on, try making an animal out of pvc pipe, you might get hooked on it like I did!
