Creating emotional learning tools to help kids feel seen, understood, and confident.
Hi! I’m Jenn: a mom of two boys, a communications professional, and someone who believes deeply in raising kids who are emotionally aware, thoughtful, kind, and connected.
🌱 Why I Started PrintnProgress:
With a background in communications, mental health, and behavioral psychology, I’ve spent years studying how people understand language, visual cues, routines, and emotional signals.
When my first child entered the “big feelings” stage, I looked for emotional-learning tools that weren’t clinical, overwhelming, or shame-based. I wanted gentle, developmentally appropriate visuals that reflected how kids actually learn and grow while capturing the magic and fun of childhood.
Nothing quite fit, so I started making them. And that's how I started PrintnProgress!
I began creating feelings posters, calm-down visuals, and routine charts for my oldest son, combining:
• evidence-based child communication strategies
• developmentally appropriate visuals
• behavioral science frameworks
• warm storytelling and inclusive illustrations
The results were transformative: smoother mornings, calmer transitions, fewer meltdowns, more emotional language, and a home that felt regulated, not chaotic.
🧠 The Science Behind These Tools
Every printable is rooted in well-established, research-backed principles that shape how children learn and communicate.
A few of the biggest influences are:
✔ Social Cognitive Theory (SCT): Children learn emotional and behavioral skills by observing, imitating, and practicing with visual cues.
✔ Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB): Kids follow routines more successfully when they have a clear intention (visual step-by-step guides), a supportive environment (predictable structure), and positive beliefs about their ability (“I can do this!” tools).
✔ Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM): Children respond best to simple, concrete, kid-friendly messages supported by engaging visuals, which is why every tool is visual-first, warm, and developmentally clear.
✔ Child Communication Research: Young children need emotional vocabulary, visual modeling, and gentle repetition.
These theories work together to help kids understand feelings, build confidence, and develop healthy coping skills — in ways that feel natural, playful, and supportive.
