Nature Always Inspires
Smiling Pool Studio came about as a result of a homeschooling find when my oldest daughter was in kindergarten back in 2012. It was the first time I had heard about Thornton W. Burgess and his amazing library of literary works. These classic stories captivated my children over the years and we loved exploring the Green Meadows, the Laughing Brook, and the Smiling Pool. His fun-loving and mischievous characters like Reddy Fox, Grandfather Frog, and Peter Rabbit inspire many of my digital creations. I want other children to love reading the Thornton Burgess books and be inspired by the lessons they teach, in addition to discovering the amazing wildlife and nature in North America.
Along with developing educational resources, I work part-time in the real estate industry. After creating countless marketing materials for seasonal mailers, I realized that my services could be put to use for others by creating easy-to-edit templates. I enjoy this creative outlet and hope that it gives back time and effort to the people who need it most.
This Etsy shop has been through various changes over the years, from handmade wooden furniture to vintage finds to digital creations. We have been operating since the summer of 2007 in a variety of forms and product inventory.
We are currently located in Sedalia, MO, on a 10 acre plot of land we call home. Though just outside city limits, we enjoy a variety of wildlife, which provides me with a continuous stream of ideas for my Etsy shop.
