Hola, mi nombre es Liz y Thread Faction Studio es mi pequeño mundo. Hago todo aquí, jefe de cocina y lavador de botellas, por así decirlo, ¡así que todo lo que ves aquí fue diseñado, redactado y hecho por mí!
Siempre me ha gustado hacer cosas, y una vez que aprendí a coser alrededor de los seis años, nada me detuvo. Cosía ropa de muñecas y peluches cuando era niña, y luego bolsos, disfraces y todos mis mejores atuendos cuando era adolescente. Hice una variedad de trabajos cuando era un adulto joven, trabajé en bienes raíces, fui dueño de un salón de belleza y, créanme, incluso fui instructor de deportes acuáticos por un tiempo. Sin embargo, una vez que tuve mi primer hijo, mi costura volvió a tomar asiento delantero y comencé a diseñar y fabricar una gama de pañales de tela (pañales). Los pañales de tela llevaron a la ropa amigable con los pañales de tela y luego a los patrones para esa ropa y aquí estamos.
Ahora diseño todo tipo de ropa para niños, e incluso algunos patrones limitados para adultos cuando me apetece. Pero todavía puedes encontrar esos primeros patrones amigables con los pañales de tela en nuestra tienda, ¡y no puedo creer que el niño para el que los diseñé originalmente esté en la escuela secundaria ahora!
Paso cinco preciosas horas todos los días en mi estudio (entre la entrega y la recogida de la escuela), dibujando, cosiendo, fotografiando y escribiendo instrucciones, ¡y es simplemente lo mejor! Los patrones de Thread Faction son para los creadores, para los adultos (y probablemente para algunos niños y adolescentes si son como yo) que quieren hacer cosas para ellos y para los niños increíbles y geniales que les importan. Hago mis patrones para que sean aptos para principiantes, llevándote paso a paso a través de todos los conceptos básicos con muchas imágenes y diagramas. Hi, my name is Liz and Thread Faction Studio is my little world. I do everything here, chief cook and bottle washer as it were, so everything you see here was designed drafted and made by me!
I have always loved to make things, and once I learned to sew at around age six there was no stopping me. I sewed up doll and teddy clothes as a child, and then bags, costumes, and all my best outfits as a teen. I did a range of jobs as a young adult, worked in real estate, owned a beauty salon, and would you believe, I was even a water sports instructor for a while. Once I had my first kiddo though, my sewing took front seat again and I began designing and manufacturing a range of cloth nappies (diapers). Cloth nappies led to cloth nappy friendly clothes and then the patterns for those clothes and here we are.
I design all sorts of kids’ clothes now, and even some limited adult patterns when the mood strikes. But you can still find those first cloth nappy friendly patterns in our shop, and I can’t believe the kiddo I originally designed them for is in high school now!
I spend five precious hours each day in my studio (between school drop off and pick up), drafting, sewing, photographing, and writing instructions and it is just the best! Thread Faction patterns are for the makers, for adults (and probably a fair few kiddos and teens if they are anything like I was) who want to make things for themselves and the awesome, cool kiddos they care about. I make my patterns so that they are very beginner friendly, taking you step by step through all the basics with lots of pictures and diagrams. If you can follow a recipe you can sew one of our patterns. Let’s make a thing!
