Grief turned into gift
After losing my Grandad in January of 2020, I was heart broken. At the time I remember, just wanting something, anything to make me feel closer to him again. Following this, my best friend sadly lost her Grandad in the May of 2020. As we was in lock down in the UK, I searched online for a memorial necklace to gift to her. When it arrived, I was slightly disappointed as the image was barely noticeable, I felt it didn't bring justice to the picture and the meaning behind the necklace.
At this time, I was running another small business specialising in gemstones & crystal healing. I had an idea to pair memorial gifts alongside gemstone healing to provide comfort and aid grief in difficult times. I have an eye for detail and knew somehow I'd be able to make really special pieces.
Cut the story short, I done my research, bought the equipment I needed and launched what is now Treasure To You. Back then, it was called QC Keepsakes. This is because my gemstone business was called The (Q)uartz (C)ove and I hadn't yet thought of a business name for this new venture (that seemed right) as it was quite a quick process between the idea and the launch of the business.
My new venture took off well, I had bought an old second hand machine and as the weeks went by, orders came flying in.
At this time may I add, I was in my second year of university studying Business management with an almost three year old daughter and pregnant with my son.
The time came when I was struggling to juggle everything and something had to give... with that the Quartz Cove went and in the March (2021), two weeks before I give birth to my son I rebranded the business to Treasure To You.
The idea behind the name was that, the product's that I make will be treasured by the recipient and the recipient only. They are of no sentimental value to anyone else... they are TREASURE TO YOU.
Over the past three years a lot has changed within my small business,
Shortly after I rebranded, I upgraded my machine to a new one which meant the quality went from 10 to 100. I went into my final year of university with my new born, toddler and running my business... and graduated (a very proud moment).
Since graduating in 2022, all my efforts and time has been put into Treasure To You.
I pride my self in my work, I spend countless hours editing everyone's images to ensure the best possible out come. I will never make the order, until I am 100% certain that it will look perfect. It brings me happiness to know that my small business can bring so much comfort to so many people, in the most difficult of times.
If you made it this far, thank you. That is the story behind my small business: Treasure To You.
