Welcome to Essegi87! Here's something about me&illustrations :)

I was born in Ragusa on 7th June 1987, and I have lived in Pozzallo, a little town near the seaside, till 2016. The pseudonym "Essegì" is related to the initials of my name and was born by chance, while I was studying Graphics. Since I was a child I have been drawing everywhere, everytime, dreaming about being an inventor-painter one day! I used to create my toys, looking at cartoons and drawing expecially dancers and animals.
Always in love with dance and art, after High school I graduated in Graphic Design at Academy of fine Arts in Catania in 2010. I've been attending advanced courses about traditional and digital illustration at Nemo Academy of digital Arts in Florence (2012-2014) and in Sarmede (TV), the beautiful little town of fairy tales, at Fondazione Zavrel, since 2011 till 2020. I often take part of collective painting exhibitions and I create illustrations for agencies and privates. I really love holding workshops for children at bookshops, schools and associations, and also so happy to hold streaming masterclass for children and adults (mankov.online/page2870).

Here you can find little pieces of soul, illustrations made through traditional ways, expecially watercolors, acrylics and dry point. I love traditional painting, thinking about every drawing and line as a kind of mosaic, in which every piece, created by brushstrokes, is embracing the composition and echoing figures of animals (or landscape) and people linked.
When I'm painting, I always listen to Music, 'cause it allows me to put colors on canvas or paper, like a ritual. Dance is a fil-rouge of every illustration: I have been practicing that since I was a child, and it has grown up with me, deeply connected to soul. I'd like to let paintings dance through signs. Seaside is an element I cannot avoid, too, because it reminds me tenderness and deep roots.

I'd like to discover new techniques, more and more, sketching and searching for inspiration every day, wandering about Harmony and Soul through signs, dreaming to convey to people looking at illustrations the same Joy I feel when I'm painting... Always trying to give a peaceful and happy moment to travel with imagination, embracing through every sign.

I am an illustrator deeply linked to the sun and sea of my land, Sicily. The pseudonym "Essegì" refers to the initials of my name and was born years ago, by chance, while I was studying Graphics at the Academy.
100% dreamer, I love drawing and painting, organizing creative workshops, dancing and reading. I like to travel to visit exhibitions, fairs, attend specialization courses in illustration or simply enjoy Beauty and absorb colors...
My paintings often refer to Music, Dance and the Sea, elements that I consider "inspiring muses" and that I find in the interweaving of lines and spots, such as free and dreamy movements, figures and hugs, fragments of a deep Research to discover the Soul and Harmony with oneself.

Sono un'illustratrice profondamente legata al sole e al mare della mia terra, la Sicilia. Lo pseudonimo "Essegì" si riferisce alle iniziali del mio nome ed è nato anni fa, casualmente, mentre studiavo Grafica in Accademia.
Sognatrice al 100%, adoro disegnare e dipingere, organizzare laboratori creativi, ballare e leggere. Mi piace viaggiare per visitare mostre, fiere, frequentare corsi di specializzazione in illustrazione o semplicemente gustare Bellezza e assorbire colori...
I miei dipinti si riferiscono spesso alla Musica, alla Danza e al Mare, elementi che considero "muse ispiratrici" e che ritrovo negli intrecci di linee e macchie, come movimenti liberi e sognanti, figure e abbracci, frammenti di una Ricerca profonda alla scoperta dell'Anima e dell'Armonia con se stessi.
