Why Hand-Sewn Saddle-Stitching Is So Important To Us

Leather sewing machines commonly use the "lock stitch.” If just one loop of a lock stitch is broken, the other side will automatically be loosened. Often this process will continue until the thread has pulled out of all the seams, and the entire product is ruined. Saddle stitches will not unravel if one loop is broken.

Though slower, hand-sewing is superior to machine sewing. It is the best way to bind pieces of leather together. These durable, hand-sewn products are built to last, with an aesthetic of timeless elegance.

Firstly, this is a very nice and well made case BUT there was no mention that it was coming from the Far East, and the iPad isn't fixed to the case - it is loose. You have to bend the lovely back of the case, to create a back for the iPad to lean on. It does look the part though and is exceptional quality. I do think that if someone is selling something, they should make clear in the advert, exactly where it is coming from. I wouldn't buy one again, because the iPad is not fixed to the back - and because it isn't made in the UK where I thought it was coming from.
