The backstory...
When Will was in college, he wanted to make a game. Years went by; nothing changed. He had a vague idea of how this game might operate, but had no idea where to start. After graduating, he received what now seems likely magical advice: “Make it out of trash”. So that’s what he did!
After a lot of experimentation (and not too much trash), Will finally had made what he’d imagined out of trash. To Will it was beautiful. But then the question was: how do you actually make it?
Months later, Will had the “Log Crossing”. He now knew he could design and make a game. Will then showed his twin Wes. While they playing the game they realized something: every time they failed to roll the marble across the log, then marble would drop on the floor, bouncing across the floor or under a couch. It sparked an idea: how might we play this game without having to chase this marble?
Will and Wes had stumbled upon their first products: decorative puzzle games. After adapting the Log Cross to a bottle and ideating some more games, they sat on a shelf. And when friends visited, instead of pulling out their phones when they got board, they’d pick the game off the shelf.
Noticing that guests loved these games, Will and Wes started to hone a series of games that would serve as their first products in 2018.
At the time Will and Wes collaborated through FaceTime because they lived hours from each other (one in NY, the other in TN). In 2020, Will moved to Nashville, joining Wes in Nashville. Now together again, they started to collaborate even more.
Getting something right is a beautiful thing – whatever it is. So whether its a game, or something else, we sincerely hope these products can serve as an inspiration to get it right and a reminder that though something may not be easy, with focus and perseverance, the most insurmountable things can become a matter of time.
