Cards with a Mission: Sharing Encouragement, Creating Impact
I started Just Cards Direct in 2007 with a simple but powerful vision: to create beautifully designed, inspirational cards and gifts that encourage hearts — while also making a meaningful difference in the world.
What began as a small seed of an idea has grown into a heartfelt business based in Nottinghamshire, England, run by a dedicated team of six. At the heart of what we do is our desire to uplift others — whether it’s through the words on a card or through the lives changed by every purchase.
Together with our Creative Director, Emily Lee, and our Operations Director, Fera Sharpe, I help oversee the creation of each product. From concept to delivery, our team works closely to ensure everything we make reflects our faith, integrity, and commitment to excellence. We also collaborate with talented external artists and trusted production partners to bring our designs to life.
We’re passionate about sourcing ethically and sustainably where possible. All of our greeting cards are printed locally in Nottingham, and we use a CO₂-neutral printer in the Netherlands for our calendars, notebooks, and most colouring products. When you shop with us, you're not only choosing thoughtful, faith-filled gifts — you're also supporting eco-conscious production.
A big part of our mission is also rooted in Africa. From the very beginning, we’ve worked alongside gifted craft makers in African communities, supporting them with design input or helping them find new markets for their beautiful, handcrafted items. Every product we source from these artisans is purchased at a fair price, helping to create jobs and support some of the poorest communities through dignified, empowering work.
